You know that part in movies where the main character turns on their car radio and the song that’s playing slowly fades in and becomes the movies background music? I like that

remindmeofthe

I love the opposite, where the background music is seemingly just background music until the cut to someone turning off the radio and the music abruptly cuts off.

The first one is called the Diegetic Switch. The second one is the Left the Background Music On trope which is more fun and full of comedic potential

narcissus-the-sky asked:

More of an apology than an ask. When the fist pictures of Good Omens were released I hated it, and joined in the snark about '2 white men, how original'. In my (ltd) defence, my book cover had a black and a white guy, and it was one of the very few covers I could see myself in back then, that weren't about slavery or Africa. The TV series met none of my headcannons and was awesome, and I realise I was being a dick before. Thanks for all your stories and work, and your patience with idiots online

neil-gaiman answered:

You know, I never ever expect to get apologies from the Internet, and especially not from Tumblr, and this made my morning. Thank you. I hoped that I knew what I was doing, on the casting, but understood why people were upset.

vaderssidechick asked:

I actually have two. 1. Did Sheen and Tennent have as much joy offscreen as they absolutely seemed to onscreen? Because I don't think I've ever seen two actors give performances steeped in such utter joy ever. And 2: What is the name of the dog who played Dog?

neil-gaiman answered:

1) They did, yes. The work was long and hard, in hot places and cold places, and they were always troupers. David had desert winds blowing sand in his face while acting with special contact lenses in. Michael was cold and tired. But there was always so much joy.

2) Ollie.

Is Russia even real

numinous-queer

I think it is necessary for me to transcribe what she’s saying because it is EXACTLY how I babytalk to my cat:

“Oh Stepa! So little – little Stepa! My little kiss, where’s my little kiss?? Where are my little fingers? Where are my little legs? Where are my little paws? Stepa!” *shakes his paw* “Say hello! Hello my little one! Hello!” *lies down on him* “Oh how nice, how warm. Good boy…”

satedghost

to be clear, this bear is named the russian equivalent of “steve”

“ruined”? made better

gabbypie64

It’s very humanizing to imagine some poor potter in the past screaming “nnnnooooooo bad kitty” somewhere in Scandinavia

wbicepuppy

If it was ruined, the artisan wouldn’t have baked it.

pumpkin-bread

That’s… that’s a delightful point you just made.

This person chose to bake and keep their cat’s artistic contribution.
