1. the central tension of this scene, obviously, which is thor realizing jeff goldblum dicked down his kid brother
2. the fact that jeff goldblum either apparently never learned how to wink OR is trying and failing to bat his eyelashes
3. the way loki opens his mouth as if to try to explain himself to thor and then looks back at jeff goldblum and decides, nah, we’re good, there’s no coming back from this one
4. the fact that whoever made this gif decided this scene wasn’t hysterical enough on its own and added dramatic telenovela zooms

Idk how old your post about sisko vs lorca is but it’s so on point!! Sisko’s shades of grey are so compelling bc from the start he’s clearly a reluctant hero, and he can do what needs to be done bc he doesn’t *see* himself as a hero. Whereas lorca views his shadiness *as* heroism and something he should be rewarded for. He’s a sisko-type captain who sees himself as Captain Kirk, and I love how dsc explores that self-centeredness without justifying it the way trek has done in the past

“sees himself as captain kirk” - YES, EXACTLY, I LOVE THAT PHRASING. i would also argue that, even if lorca didn’t view himself in that way, he and sisko still aren’t comparable in moral terms because at this point lorca sees the morally shady action as the default whereas for sisko it’s always the last resort, and even then he questions the idea that it’s worth the cost. i think frequency and weight matter here too is what i’m saying. but yeah ur right
