When I was around 18 one of my three much older sisters explained to me how when she was my age, our Oma had explained to her that modesty was all fine and well but a lady ought to show off her assets, i.e. neckline and cleavage, to hell with it. Advice to live by… I mean, if you’ve got it, which I do. My mom really didn’t and doesn’t have a smart sense of fashion but Oma, her mom, did.
