Another feedback episode!
This is a good one to share with your friends to let them know about the show! (hint, hint)
We talk about what we mean by “Golden Age of Television;” talk about some books and what we want in our scifi; and talk some just nonsense in between.
Give us a call and we may feature you in an upcoming podcast!

Star Trek: Discovery Trailer
Obviously you’ve all seen the Star Trek: Discovery trailer by now (if not, it’s here) so we thought we’d do a quick check-in with what everyone is wearing. The first few shots see Sonequa Martin-Green and Michelle Yeoh on Tattooine:

Can we talk about the fit on that Desert Business Hoodie because it is *chef kiss fingers*
These are the opinions I was looking for.

“Duet” was one of DS9′s strongest earlier episodes. Well worth watching if you haven’t seen it
Here here
We talk some of it’s inspirations (The Man in the Glass Booth, Hannah Arendt) here
We open with Sisko throwing 7 bits of carrot into a salad and leaving the rest on the cutting board…

as James points out: THAT’S JUST BAD PREPPING
Lots of first appearances being prepped in this episode, such as this handsome devil

Jeffrey Coombs in new makeup as Liquidator Brunt of the FCA
Plus the first [and last] appearance of Andrea Martin as Ishka,
but not the last appearance of Ishka…
Everyone is made uncomfortable…
not as much by this…

as by this…

Mother are you trying to…
No. Just NO

why?
James in particular is squicked out by Ferengi weirdness

Oh, and Kasidy Yates’ shows up onscreen for the first time in this one too

This Star Trek inspired necklace from Auberg Designs says “feminist,” or “be'ist,” in the written Klingon language, for all you feminist Trekkies out there. 🖖
When I read on the wiki that Andrew Robinson played Garak as attracted to Bashir but then toned it down after s2 because the writers weren’t on board I was pissed, but I’m over halfway through season 3 and this sure as HELL doesn’t seem toned down to me.

Agreed!
What has happened?
In this “Escape Pod” episode we take some time to explore your thoughts on Babylon 5, a show that may or may not have some interests to fans of shows about futurist Space Stations with numbers in the title!
