Olá pessoal, estou trabalhando em algo que não é comum para mim, uma fanart. Sempre pensei que, se um dia eu fizesse alguma fanart, a primeira seria relacionada ao Arquivo X ou à Mulher Maravilha. Mas acontece que não foi bem assim. Estava eu assistindo Star Trek Deep Space 9 (que nem era das melhores franquias da série) quando apareceu um guerreiro Jem'hadar e, sabe-se lá porque, me deu uma vontade louca de desenhar um deles. Quanto mais desenho mais adoro a estética do rosto.

Hi guys, I’m working on something that is not common for me, a fanart. I always thought that if I ever did some fanart, the first one would be related to the X-Files or Wonder Woman. But what I expected didn’t happen. I was watching Star Trek Deep Space 9 (which was not even the best franchise in the series) when a Jem'hadar warrior appeared and, I don’t know why, gave me a crazy urge to draw one of them. The more I draw the more I adore the aesthetics of the face.
So, take a look at my first fanart still in progress.

Podfic Update - “Disconnnect” Chapter 4
Just uploaded Chapter 4 (”Day Three”) of “Disconnect,” the podfic I’m recording. Hopefully I’m doing justice to @tinsnip‘s story! This chapter is pretty visceral, with a lot of fighting and Julian and Garak no longer being able to ignore hard truths.

Red headed Cardassians?
Based on the orange color and the massive jowls, I would wager this is a male iguana. I bring you this PSA simply because male and female behavior during breeding season is VERY different and the super-orange is a clue that this iggy is likely in season. Females can get restless and stop eating because they’re full of eggs and can’t hold food. Males can get aggressive and stop eating because they’re trying to fight the whole world. Don’t pick this guy up! (Obviously, each iguana is a unique individual - there are exceptions.)
I always do iguana PSAs not to be *that* person in a post but because I love these critters and want them to have good lives. They don’t make good pets (I have one that is almost 12) and a lot of people who get them don’t do enough research beforehand. Most pet iguanas don’t live past age one. Lots of males get dropped off at shelters & rescues because of how difficult they are during breeding season.
All of that aside, the topic of redheaded Cardassians deserves further exploration. Also, with Cardassians and hair color, I feel Ziyal needed mermaid hair. Because of reasons.

it genuinely didn’t occur to me that this was weird that i’d never heard a crow or raven caw in my life and frnakly the australian raven noise is the most common noise to me and it means “it’s the morning now”. i can’t imagine life without it. its background noise i didn’t even think to identify as coming from somewhere. it’s just There.

Kardasi Phonology Version 1.95
With deepest apologies to everyone who was using the old chart.
So I’ve been thinking about this on and off for…probably months now, and tonight as I was working on Lesson 1 to learn Kardasi, I made a final decision. I’ve swapped around the pronunciation for g and G, as I wasn’t super-satisfied with how having a soft g (<j>) impacted a lot of established words.
I’m not a very decisive person, but I will try to keep this change permanent. Sorry, everyone!

Once again, recording someone else’s story. I’ll be posting most of this a chapter at a time and adding the download links, but the first download is Chapters 1-3 because the first two are shorter.
A bit of background on why I decided to record this story: I don’t “do” the Deep Dish Nine AU, or at least I didn’t, until recently the story “Complementing Baggage” appeared here on AO3 as a new story. I glanced at it, not meaning to read, but I got hooked and wow, it was a great story, and the kind that made you want more. And since I knew that it had sprung from a previous story, I hunted that story down, and it was this one – “Disconnect”, as well as its sequel “Splice”. And OMG, “Disconnect” really got to me, as does pretty much all of tinsnip’s writing.
And why do I love it? First, “The Wire” is up there in my very favorite DS9 episodes, so that’s obvious, but second, and more importantly, this story just goes so deeply into the issues involved with addiction, withdrawal, what it does not just to them but to someone close to them if they witness it, how the partner copes, and just what a fucking sick shit show it is. Both the POVs are there. Finally, I’ll name I guess the third, fourth and fifth parts I loved: realism, details, and some great shouting matches.
My reading: The perspective in the story alternates between Garak and Julian. Sometimes a whole chapter will be just from one POV but in some chapters it will switch from section to section. I try to convey with my voice. Hopefully it’s easy enough to spot the transitions. That goes for the bits of internal dialog that are appear throughout; I say them a bit more quietly so you can tell the characters aren’t speaking the works out loud.
I’ll try to record at least one chapter this week, hopefully more.
