well I was gonna just watch a selected recommended scene of this one, but then these are the first shots and like hell am I leaving Victoriana Blade Runner??

- dim grungy bar and Miles O’Brien ~undercover~, oh yeah no I’m definitely here, *signing on*
- this alien dude with the dataport using the console like he’s conducting in mid-air, holy cow I love that
- it is hilarious but somehow believable to me that Miles is good at this. I get the feeling that his occasion Not Going Along With Yer Nonsense is out of sheer mulishness, not lack of rolling-with-it ability. and I mean, we shouldn’t discount the weeks of his life he spends improving fantasies with Julian in the holosuites.
- anyway I cannot believe this show is real, look at that last sentence

the stubble is not a bad look for Miles, unexpectedly

- apparently I’m fondly amused by grimdark techno-noir, who knew
- I think I’ve just figured something out about myself: believability of plots/devices does not matter to me remotely, but believability of how characters behave in them does. anyway another way of phrasing that probably: I love the sci-fi franchise Star Trek.

Queadlunn- More Tricorder progress!

The firmware hasn’t changed a whole lot since the last post, just changes fixing a few things and removing a sensor.

I had to remove the gas sensor due to a new incompatibility that arose with me upgrading the sensor’s firmware (it has its own tiny cpu) so I’ll be making a smaller, handheld gas scanner that wirelessly interfaces with the Tricorder to show data. The radiation scanner I have on it’s way will be similar.

The touchpad has been rebuilt but is still giving me some problems and I’m thinking that I’ll have to replace it at some point with physical buttons. The capacitive buttons are triggering on their own or not working…

The chassis and casing are now very different. The lower door chassis is aluminum, the casing is fused ABS (textured with truck bed coating).

As I said, I’ve got a radiation sensor on the way (link) and I’ve got a thermal sensor that’s made up of an 8x8 grid of IR thermal sensors that works like a heat-seeing camera. Fun stuff.

Lastly, I got a nice Pelican case to store it in. Waterproof and beefy enough to break a door in with.

Starting a new job next week, I’ll post an update when I can.

Anonymous asked:

How did you learn making the visuals? Could you give some tips/tricks or even tutorials (if you have the time) for making the same a e s t h e t i c pixelart?

panstasz answered:

Self-taught. There are for sure better ways of doing this but I use only the line tool for the clean look of it. It’s all about experimenting with different patterns
