Made a Heal Slime from Dragon Quest, was going to have it doing something silly but I had a hard time with the tentacles as it was, maybe i’ll add to it later.

King’s Quest! A series that lasted thirty years, inspired
countless adventure games and is still quoted today! It’s time to look
back through history, right up until the present, and see just why this
series deserves its place in history. This week: it’s off to The Land of the Green Isles to make friends with a talking tomato in King’s Quest VI: Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow!
Can we take a moment to talk about the titles of the King’s Quest games? This one is called Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow. King’s Quest V was Absence Makes The Heart Go Yonder. It’s a giant train ride of puns, this series. You only have to read the title to know exactly what you’re in for. A bunch of in-your-face wordplay that you have to laugh at, almost in spite of yourself. It’s just kind of… happy. There’s dark humour in the deaths, of course, but it’s packed with so much silly humour that the deaths take a back seat in the end. Apart from that scream in King’s Quest V.
King’s Quest VI has pushed the silliness to maximum levels. If Sierra had a knob labelled ‘Silly’, it would’ve snapped off by this point. Don’t get me wrong, King’s Quest V was silly, I mean it had a talking owl in a vest for crying out loud, but King’s Quest VI completely detaches itself from reality. It’s a world of drunken genies, sentient chess pieces, angry pieces of wood and, lest we forget, the underworld. Its magic is in seeing where it can take you next. The world feels bigger than before but with far fewer useless screens, so the adventure is kept nice and tight. The downsides? Well the twin annoyances of copy protection and climbing sections make a reappearance and some new irritations have begun to creep in due to limitations.

A Big Deal in the Resistance by @igrockspock (Star Wars, Finn/Poe)
Within a month of officially joining the Resistance, Finn accidentally initiates an epic prank war with his roommates, receives a medal he doesn’t want, and starts falling in love with his best friend.
OMG, prank wars and culture shock and so many Finn feels. I love this fic like pie.
Motion Parallax by laughalot3412 (Leverage, gen)
So, apparently Amy’s boss was part of a criminal gang.
The ultimate post-canon Amy-the-brewpub-waitress fic I have been yearning for, starting with Leverage taking down some internet trolls harassing her family, followed by Amy navigating a friendship with Parker with confusion and affection, and taking care of the trio like a boss.
YULETIDE, CONTINUED
An Unquiet Beast by bigsunglasses (Goblin Emperor, gen)
She had burned with love. It was a fire that had lasted over twenty years. Well, all fires ran out of fuel in the end.
A study of Hesero Nelaran and Setheris Nelar, in the first spring after their reunion.
Yuletide had an amazing slew of TGE fics this year, but this one stood out. An unflinching look at Hesero dealing with the fallout, beautifully written, and featuring a view on Csethiro that finally made me understand why she was a court leader before Maia.
peace and quiet by alessandriana (Vorkosigan Saga, gen)
Light and genteel laughter spilled out of the foyer. A large group of Barrayar’s high society had just arrived, clustering in small groups as they waited to be greeted by the Emperor. Ivan hesitated on the edge of the group, mind racing in circles as he scanned the crowd. He resisted the urge to rub at the spreading patches of red on his hands. I don’t want anything to do with this.
Ivan averts an unusual attack on Gregor. A tightly written plot, a great dollop of h/c, and a fantastic look at their relationship.
all the words that ever were or ever will be by Tequila_Mockingbird (Curse of Chalion, gen)
“The gods held mountains in their minds, and all else besides, all at once.” -Curse of Chalion
Dreamy, gorgeous telling of the book from the viewpoint of the Daughter. I was surprised in the best way by how well it worked.
Documentary!!! With everybody!!! And a mythical ‘season eight episode 1′ script!
GO CHECK OUT THE INDIEGOGO FOR THE PROJECT!!! GOOO!
My reactions in chronological order:
1) “[Deep Space Nine] has enjoyed less acclaim and nostalgia than the original series or Star Trek: Next Generation and sits somewhere above the short-lived Enterprise series and just below Voyager on the Star Trek interest scale.”
WTF did I just read?! “Less acclaim”?! In what universe is the author living? *smashes all the things*
2) (Tentative) enthusiasm re: the documentary itself - It’s not what I dreamed of, but it’s better than nothing. And I’m interested in what direction the writers would take a hypothetical season 8, so yay!
3) Bottom line: go support the campaign if you’re interested in this and have some money to spare :)
A chart with some Vulcans! Similar to this height chart for Bajorans. Again, the sample size is kind of too small to actually be useful, but at least it’s some named characters this time (plus a random Vulcan child and human)!
This is the third appearance of Spock on my blog (artwise), but the very first for T’Pol. It turns out she had 40 different costumes over the course of ENT (!!), and I think there were better options for her character-wise than translating this outfit, but this outfit makes the jump to redesign well. She’s pictured next to a human of the time at the bottom for comparison. (I haven’t seen ENT, so I’m sorry if this is actually the worst possible outfit to put her in!)
What We Left Behind: Star Trek Deep Space Nine DocA documentary looking back at the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine series.
Indiegogo campaign to fund the documentary. Well, I’m in!
