I’ve been getting tons of questions lately asking why externally threaded jewelry is not acceptable in reputable piercing studios. Well the answer is plain and simply right in front of your eyes. The quality is sub-par as you can see from the top picture, not only are the threads rough and sharp but the surface area that goes through your piercing is covered with pits and pores that can harbor bacteria and irritate your piercing. The bottom picture is an implant grade titanium barbell that is handmade here in America and polished by HAND to a mirror finish. It also has no external threads so insertion is relatively smooth and will not scratch your piercing on the way in or out unlike the top externally threaded piece. Why would your piercer only use the better of the two you might ask? Well it’s simply to offer you the customer the absolute best we can. I took this picture with my S7 smart phone. You don’t need a magnifying glass or microscope to see the difference in quality here. If your piercer is using externally threaded jewelry they do not care enough about your well-being to make the change like I did. Is it hard to change everything over to higher quality? Yes, but I feel you’re worth it! You should too… (at Pincushn’s Custom)

Olivine is a common mantle mineral found on the surface in volcanic and exposed mantle rocks. It also sometimes occurs as beautiful green to brown crystals large enough to be faceted as gems, and its deep origins could induce one poetically to view it as our world’s crystallised ichor.
