i just read your transporter incident autistic julian fic (and might i add as an autistic with an autistic julian headcanon the best thing of my week i couldnt stop being exciting even though there were so many different emotions) and since it was so good i was wondering if you know of any other good fics with autistic julian? if not thats ok! but i'd love to hear of some if you do! (also i prefer stuff without romance but i can put up with it !) thanks again for the great read!!!

Thank you! I’m very glad you liked my story. Autistic!Julian is one of my favourite headcanons, and it means a lot to me.

There aren’t too many autistic!Julian stories out there, but there are a few I can recommend to you.

This story [link] is a transporter malfunction story where Julian gets de-aged into a child. As a child, he is autistic, and as an adult he shows autistic traits but doesn’t think it’s enough for a diagnosis (though he also says that the label is probably there if he wants it, so perhaps he doesn’t know himself whether he’s still autistic). It’s a good story, and Julian as a child is pretty cute, and because he’s a child there’s not much romance. There is occasional mention/implication that Julian and Garak are together (as adults) but no actual romantic content.

This story [link] is pretty short (less than 900 words) but it’s nice to read. In the story, Julian goes to Garak for help with making a weighted blanket. They’re friendly with each other, but it’s not explicitly romantic.

This story [link] and this story [link] are by the same author and set in the same universe. Both are very long, but very well-written. The first story takes place on the station, from the points of view of people who interact with Julian. It’s an excellent story, but there is a romantic and sexual relationship between Julian and Garak so you may want to skim that content if it’s not your thing. The second story is a prequel with Julian and his aunt. I admit I haven’t finished reading it (not the story’s fault, and I do have it marked for later) but there doesn’t seem to be nearly as much, if any, romantic content. As a warning, I believe there are instances of self-harm in this story, though I didn’t get that far and only know because of someone in the comments. These two are both very well-written and polished stories, and are by far the longest of anything else I can find.

There’s also this story [link] but because it’s mostly romance with a side of autistic!Julian (instead of mostly autistic!Julian with a side of romance) it might not be your thing. It’s one scene, with Julian saying goodbye to Garak before he leaves for Cardassia.

Overall, there really isn’t much out there for autistic!Julian fic. I’ve only searched AO3, so if anyone has suggestions from other sources (Tumblr, fanfiction.net, livejournal, etc) please share them!

I am working on another autistic!Julian story, set in the DD9 verse, but who knows when it’ll be done because I’m not great at writing consistently.
