aboutcein
queer-normative

years later, julian visits garak and parmak on post-war cardassia. he stays a couple weeks (because a visit to cardassia warrants more than just an afternoon trip).

one day, parmak notices that when julian enters a room and garak isn’t looking, garak doesn’t taste the air to see who it is before addressing him directly.

parmak just smiles and returns peacefully to his reading.

.

(yeah so i legit just came up with a blurb idea to suit my thought that cardassians tend to taste the air to see who’s arrived in order to grant a little bit of privacy-but-not-privacy to people’s comings and goings, and only actually turn to acknowledge the other person if there’s a conversation to be had. when they’re really familiar with someone and can recognize how they walk, etc though, they obv don’t have to, and it’s a sign of being (or having been) very close, usually family, lovers, or very close colleagues)

tasted approved and headcanoned thank you VERY MUCH cardassians cardassia
