I think Garak would blink, smile, and refuse to respond until Essim trots out “Yadik”.

Julian, on the other hand, would be “Dad” all day long, and would grin and be obnoxious and wear a “Sector’s Best Dad” t-shirt.

Garak would side-eye this.

“Don’t be jealous. You aren’t Dad, after all. You’re Yadik.”

“Jealous? Hardly.”

“We’ll get you a ‘Prime’s Favoured Yadik’ tunic when we get back home.”

“Dad, you’re being silly.”

“I agree. Exactly the right term, in fact.”
