See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

While I don’t personally suffer depression or suicidal thoughts, I used to get really confused about mood swings or being super fucking hungry or tired for “no reason” until I started tracking my period.

I 100% support and recommend the app Clue. It’s a phenomenal resource to track not only when you’re bleeding, but like…everything, right down to the consistency of your poop. Since fluctuating hormone levels affect basically every single thing in your body, it’s invaluable for figuring out why the fuck you feel terrible, etc. It has tons of really helpful scientific information about all stages of the menstrual cycle as well.

I also appreciate that you can set reminders for a variety of things/times in your cycle, because I am terrible at remembering on my own. “Daily report, Agent.” pops up for me every night and gives me a chuckle. And unlike other apps that I’ve tried, it’s super clean and not full of pink and flowers and stereotypical girly stuff. (Which if that’s your thing, totally cool. It drives me crazy to see happy flowers when my insides are escaping through my vagina.)

It won’t make bad feelings go away, but it can definitely help you have a better idea of why they might be happening. Their blog is also great. @hello-clue
