Not much fashion for us to explore today…

Doctor, I have a pain

Wow, for once someone is putting moves on Julian instead of the other way around! This is Leeta, a Dabo girl who has the apparent hots for Julian. Her outfit is a form-fitting gold lycra bodysuit with stripes and sleeves of a sheer (or possibly just pink) floral print. I really like this, actually. I’m a sucker for overlong sleeves that double as fingerless gloves. Being a Dabo outfit, I imagine the stripes down the sides of the hips/legs are also sheer. Still that’s probably the most comfortable-looking Dabo outfit we’ve ever seen.

In the background, a Bajoran officer seems to have a saggy diaper that leaks.

It’s the Triangle of Life

I dig Leeta’s earrings, although they are not traditional Bajoran style. (Or does that go on the other ear? We never really get a clear shot.) Her collar has serious structural piping. Her bangs make my eyebrows itch. I bet she doesn’t wear contacts.

Mirror, Mirror

OH NO IT’S MIRROR UNIVERSE SISKoh no wait we’ve already met mirror universe Sisko. This is just Hip Dad Sisko. D'awww that’s adorable. Does that mean this show has Grown the Beard too?

Starships and Stripes forever

Ben, Ben, Ben. I can take the hip-dad beard, but your work jumpsuit is freaking me out a little. It’s hitting me with kind of a dystopian factory worker vibe, like a track star is going to run in any minute with a sledgehammer, but with bonus nationalistic colors. And what the heck is with the one black sleeve and one black stripe? Kind of a reverse Michael Jackson thing?

Not the Doctor

The black stripe went up the front from the belt, continued through his throat, and on down the back. Maybe they’re racing stripes (or for our UK friends, go-faster stripes). He does seem to be working pretty fast.

Is it me or do the blueprints look like they’re in Gallifreyan?

Work thicker, not harder

There’s nothing new in clothing here, I just have to giggle at the incredibly chunky laptop. It’s kind of adorable that this is what Props conceived of for computing of THE FUTURE. That thing looks like it could stop a bullet.

The cream of the crop

Ben’s traveling outfit is kind of delightful. A cream colored placket-front shirt and a cream-and-brown double-breasted vest (although he never buttons it up so that’s not obvious. It looks like the folks in Wardrobe had an argument about whether to go 70s couch, 70s couch, or 70s couch, and when they reached a stalemate they just included it all. I guess it worked; look how relaxed he looks!

Diagonal Man

Jake got a new shirt for the trip! I think? Memory of a goldfish, friends.

You wouldn’t think that purple chain-mail print and shiny olive would go together, but… it kind of does? Either that or this show has finally given me Stockholm Syndrome.

How to make your Director of Photography cry

ALL THE PATTERNS TOGETHER! ALL OF THEM! Okay it’s actually not that bad. Jake wears those dark purple pants that I think we’ve seen before. (Sisko goes with pants in a themely harvest gold, not visible here.) Also it’s a nice side view of both tops. Jake’s diagonals meet at a chevron in the side with a vent for movement; Sisko’s vest has square armholes, because there was not enough geometry involved in his outfit yet.

That’s all for now, intrepid explorers! Keep blazing your fashion trails!
