Someone proposed at the Natsume E3 booth ⊟

Best announcement of E3 so far, and definitely the most Serious Fun ever attempted by Natsume! Yesterday, in the publisher’s booth, Natsume superfans Logan Talbert and Caitlin Wheeland got engaged.

I asked Natsume community manager CeeCee about this heartwarming moment. She told me that Logan and Caitlin are longtime Natsume fans, having been invited to E3 as part of a special fan initiative in 2014, then again in the following two years.

With this year’s invitation, Logan contacted the company to help plan out a surprise proposal. “Of course, no proposal would do without a blue feather, but getting one to Logan without Caitlin noticing turned out to be QUITE the challenge,” she said. “We had them hidden all over in case one of us saw and opportunity to slip it to him - even Taka (Producer of the Harvest Moon series) had one hiding in his jacket pocket. Finally, we hit upon the perfect idea: hide one in the Show Daily magazine and hand that to him - mission accomplished.”

At the right moment, Logan surprised Caitlin with the blue feather (the Harvest Moon equivalent of an engagement ring), then got down on one knee and offered the Earth equivalent of an engagement ring. “Unbeknownst to her,” CeeCee said, “the rest of the Natsume staff and the other E3 VIPs were hiding around the corner and as soon as they heard her say yes they all ran up and cheered. So many huge smiles. It was amazing.”
