Malus hupehensis (Hupeh crab apple, tea crab apple) is a vigorous medium-sized deciduous tree with a broad crown of dark, ovate leaves. The pink flower buds open to large single white, fragrant flowers followed by small red fruit in the autumn. In central China, where it originates, the leaves are brewed to make tea.
