  4. myriadism said: And the original was such a good setting episode for Kirk and Spock’s friendship over the rest of the series. They had an argument over Spock’s cold, logical, almost cynical evaluation of mitchell but came back together in the end

Benedict CB and Alice Eve would have been Perfect for Gary Mitchell and the Psychologist, Into Darkness is a great alternative title to describe the horror of The Black and just how ignorant we are of it. You could even fit a great deal of hyper-militarized starfleet discourse into a retelling considering the original story had Kirk killing his friend because he became ‘too dangerous’ like thats some dark loaded shit right there.
