Groups collect nearly 10,000 names supporting use of $1 billion for coal regions

A citizens group is making a push this week for a proposal to free up $1 billion for reclamation work in struggling coal communities like Eastern Kentucky. Members of Kentuckians For The Commonwealth delivered petitions with almost 10,000 names to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s offce Monday.

The petitions urge McConnell to help push through a proposal called the RECLAIM Act, which could be at a critical point this week with Congress likely to recess soon.
The proposal would accelerate the release of $1 billion from the federal abandoned mine land fund. The idea is to tie the reclamation of old mined land to projects that could help diversify the economy of Eastern Kentucky and other areas grappling with a sharp downturn in coal jobs.
Examples could include reclaiming land for industrial or agricultural uses.

I think that the legipillar outfit for babies is a fine idea, but that baby is developmentally way past the legipillar stage and is going to fall over. The baby is going to faceplant. Kid is like 3 years old. Dude. That kid is thinking about getting into a good college. That potato bag design is gonna hold him back

Good take; this is a situation I did not account for, and I reckon that compared to a toddler, most adults are less likely to forget/ignore that their legs are in a sleeping bag and try to take off running.
