moose and elk are not the same things at all.  Alces alces is a moose, and  Cervus canadensis are elk. 

älg and moose are the same thing, as both of them are Alces alces

But yes this is in Canada, and all it is is that moose lick the salt off cars. They were using cars like a giant salt lick in the winter as we salt the roads and it gets all over your car.
