I finally finished collecting, organising and colour coding my quotes today. Of the 16 skirt panels I have decided to embroider on the eight rectangular ones. The skirt itself is (or at the moment was) made up of eight rectangular and eight triangular panels. I’m also going to eventually have to take it in at the waist.
I was thinking of adding a sash or patch or something to mimic the DS9 science uniform (the later one) at the top of the skirt. While looking at it to position the quotes, I came up with a different plan… I’m fabric shopping tomorrow, and replacing the triangular panels with coloured (blue, black and grey) ones. So instead of embroidery tonight I am unpicking the entire skirt.
Because you know, embroidering 24 quotes on a skirt wasn’t hard enough, let’s hand sew the entire thing back together….
I also ended up with eight Garak quotes, and may have a favourite character or something. The quotes are as follows, with each number being a different skirt panel. They will be colour coded based on speaker.
