December 17, 1972 – Apollo 17 spaceman Ron Evans worked outside the command module on the trip back to Earth. He retrieved film cassettes, a mapping camera, and panoramic camera. The total time for his spacewalk was one hour, seven minutes, 18 seconds. Upon taking his first steps in space, Evans exclaimed “Hot diggity dog!”
