And a question: users of the Cyrillic alphabet, when you see the Latin alphabet, do you get the same quiet ‘what the fuck’ that I get when I see the Cyrillic alphabet? I have to do a quick stroke check every time.

Russian people that never learned in middle school at least one language that uses Latin alphabet? That’s rare. But there is a funny thing when some words can have only letters that look identical in both alphabets but represent different sounds. Like we have the anecdote about “охрана” - some foreign singer on the concert tried to explain who he need meaning people with “охрана” on their jackets which means “security” but he said “oxpaha” - in capital letters it’s the same looking: OXPAHA (lat.) ОХРАНА (cyr.)
