Crossover Musings
Trying to decide whether I can sustain a YW/trek crossover retcon of ST V just on the basis of a deep desire to have Sybok yell “Fairest and Fallen, greetings and defiance!” at the God-creature.
@dduane did her own blink-and-you’ll-miss it ST/YW crossover in “Dark Mirror”, when the enhanced-dolphin navigator mentions The Song of the Twelve.
She likes these tiny cameos, which don’t usually have much effect on the plot but amuse those who notice them (it amuses me too, since usually she’s red-hot about me “not breaking the Fourth Wall”).
Anyway, there’s a Dr Who/ST crossover when Doctor # 4 (Tom Baker) pops up as a hologram image in “My Enemy, My Ally”, and a Dr Who/YW crossover when Doctor # 5 (Peter Davison) shows Dairine an escape route in “High Wizardry”.
I’d ask her if there are more that don’t leap to my mind, but she’s busy working on DAZ artwork for the recently-reverted “Feline Wizards” books and she’d shout at me if I interrupted.
Oddly enough, “Shatner’s Indulgence” AKA ST-V was on Sky last week and she watched it with a sort of horrified fascination. The first and previously only time we’d seen it was as an in-flight movie (leaving the cinema wasn’t an option) so rather than change channels we stuck with it, but haven’t watched it again until just now.
There were many comments afterwards the viewing, but D’s main one was: “That movie made my brains hurt.”
