Theory about a classic swedish joke about the norwegian language
Swedish speakers jokingly claiming that the norwegian name for banana is “guleböj” (=yellow bent thing)
(Which is btw NOT the norwegian language actual name for banana)
Reveal a deep seeted desire among swedish speaker to start calling banana “guleböj” in swedish. Secretly we all desire to start calling banana “yellow bent thing” instead of the current name “banan”.
We just want to invent a swedish language word for banana, but it is a secret desire of us, so we must pretend norwegian says this!
