For anyone starting vyvanse- if working properly, it's like meeting in the middle of hyperfocus and "multitasking." You'll have the ability to choose what you focus on, but it doesn't mean you'll suddenly find calculus interesting. I made the mistake of thinking motivation was the opposite of inattentiveness. You can't rely on meds 100%, you've gotta meet half way and want to succeed. If you don't, you'll be wasting the meds. To motivate myself I think about HOW I'll succeed, not WHY I have to.
