step 1: oh hey i have time, let’s do one of those prompts, this will be fun!
step 2: write five words, need garak to think of a short unit of time like a second
step 3: realize i never invented cardassian units of time
step 4: panic
Had to come up with time stuff for fanfic/rp purposes and that was it:
CT: Cardassian Time
CU: Cardassian Unit — FU: Federal Unit
1 day CU = 27h CT (24.75h FU)
1 hour CU = 55min FU (the Cardassian day is slightly longer than 24h FU)
1 week CU = 3 x 3d = 9 days
1 month CU = 3 weeks = 27 days
1 year CU = 13 months + 2 weeks + 5 day = 351 + 18 + 5 = 374 days
There was the idea that those 2 weeks + 5 days would be holidays sprinkled in-between regular months, with the largest span being the Tret Akleen festival starting at the beginning of the year.
I haven’t gotten around minutes and seconds tho.
