Headcanon: Sarek is kind of stupidly in love with Amanda after all their years together (by both human and Vulcan standards), and always wants to snuggle in private.  But being Vulcan, he can’t bring himself to admit any of this, so he just sits or lies down too close to her and casually leans until she puts an arm around him.  And then he’s like “oh, do you require physical comfort, my wife?  I suppose I should accommodate your human needs,” followed by a long-suffering sigh and then wrapping himself around her like a baby spider monkey.
