I support Garak being content to just have a friend with overtones. God, just to have a friend, really, someone to talk to. (Although for some reason I imagine him being very active online – posting to weird specialized websites, gardening and movies and such, and he’s the garrulous one whose posts you scroll by when you’re just not in the mood to talk)

Bwaaaah, little orange guy with big ears – I love the story – but also – you just gave me a headcanon that DD9 Quark has the worst spray-on tan – he thinks it looks so amazing – and who the hell is going to tell him it doesn’t? (Is DD9 Quark half as fashionable as DS9 Quark? I’d like to think he is, but how does Ferengi fashion translate to Alpha City? Blue tux? Tails? Suspenders? What, I ask?)
You did this for years? Oh, Lady. I am delighted. Ask me how long I’ve been walking around with little DS9 stories in my head. Go on. Ask. I think, one way or another, you’ll have an audience. And really, we’re just doing this to entertain ourselves & those wonderful people who maintain an interest, so no pressure. I love having an AU to play in, now; can’t wait to see what else exists in it.

And Garak is sentimental, he really is, but he’s had to bottle it up for, oh, p much his entire life, so you know what? He might sit around and write ridic poetry, because he can, because why not? He has the time. It’s not like he has to frame it. Hell, he can shred it. (although I bet he doesn’t)

Age ends up being a theme with me because it’s hard not to in this universe – I’m referencing different eras of music, and Julian gets carded, and how old are you anyway, and does it matter? I guess not (but yes, it kind of does), and do they trust each other enough to even reveal that, and it becomes a bit of a game. It’s also Garak feeling out of place in a sea of half-dressed children, and Julian throwing a bit of shade when he gets the hairy eyeball for dancing with the old guy.
I can’t wait to see your reveal. I have a little one too. God, Lady, I feel so awkward about this sometimes – I feel like you’re letting me play with your dolls, and you leave for a minute, and when you come back in I’ve got them all in each other’s clothes and I’ve cut their hair and they are just NOT RIGHT – I hope it’s okay to write a story that goes a different way from yours – because yours is canon to me, you see. /weird fannish gushing
Wiser/older, no – ahhh, superficial Julian, now that is interesting! Does he ever hit on anyone older on the show? Hmm. Not counting Jadzia, of course, because she looks as young as he does. I kind of figure Garak sneaks in sideways on that one, with the brains and the clever and the making him laugh, but do you think looks might be the biggest obstacle on the “not sure if want” front? Yes, I love being around you, yes, you make me laugh, yes, you’re incredibly smart, but not so much with the wanting to boff you and I can’t handle that…? Fascinating. /head on hands/ More more more!
