REalized I could rebagle shit without the images, and since they’re my own and I’m tired of seeing them every two days, they have been removed!  AND employing some kind of fucking genius and using a REad MORe.  Sorry it was not done sooner, dudes.

THIS IS THE HEADCANON POST THAT PREVIOUSLY CAME WITH THE DEEP DISH DRAWINGS.

Tilde overload incoming~~~

Re: dialog snippets – I am so glad you’re one of those people who jots all these little weirdnesses down~

And re: your sketchy doodles, oh, Lady, just lovely; your Garak and Bashir in-universe are my canon, and now you’ve made this whole other canon, too, and I just can’t, I just can’t~

Re: tying up – Yeah, the one I just wrote doesn’t have any lightning bolts in it. I like that moment when you can tie something back to the very start of the story, when you can (hopefully) make the reader go, ohhhhhhh, so that’s where she was going with that… As it is, there are definitely themes that carry through, and it all feels like one big whole thing, but there doesn’t appear to be any moral. (she said about her fanfiction about two sort-of-Star-Trek-characters going to a nightclub)

I never thought about your titles! I suck at titles, so I tend to sort of disregard them. Lovely! Gorgeous! Now I’ll have to pay attention much more closely! Oh, Saturation, oh, beautiful, I get to go back and read them again and look for something neeeeew~

(tilde overload in this post, my goodness)

Re: super mundane bullshit – I KNOW, oh my GOD, I KNOW. I love it too. Seriously, Garak and Bashir buy socks. Bashir takes Garak to the Laundromat. Garak and Bashir see a bird. God, I love it, right? I wonder if part of it is that they have this super-exciting life on the station, with crazy shit happening all the time, and it’s just so incredibly satisfying to imagine them just, you know, having a daaaaay, doing a thiiiing –

My language fic kind of goes that way. The first three chapters are, like, they wake up, they have breakfast, they go for a walk and they go shopping. And I love them soooo – and have had surprisingly positive comments on this. It’s funny, though; my husband read it, too, and said, this is fun, love the conversations, but thank God you put in some conflict, because I thought the whole thing was going to be them just spending a day together.

And I thought, you just don’t get it –

Fanfiction is a weird thing.

Re: overnight visits – “Can’t go see Miles, I might wake up the kids and incur the wrath of Keiko, and how silly to sleep on the couch, gosharoo, better go to Garak’s” – I love it, I love it, I’ve thought like this, but only when remarkably twitterpated, oh, how adorable – and your recent art only fuels the fire, you know. (Julian conked on the couch, Garak reading his book, oh, love love love)

I am thrilled that they’ll be full of ridiculous, because you handle Julian’s ridiculous very, very well – silly, and they both know it is, and they’re just going to roll with it for now, and it’s delightful, it’s dandelion fluff

And suspicious/hopeful Garak and cautious/honest Julian. Tea and textbooks (ahhhhh, I see now, I see!). And Garak’s weird Cardassian food! Deep-fried sandwich? I can’t imagine Garak eating anything deep-fried. But I’m pleased he cooks for Julian, because that’s just a thing for me in any universe. And sewing machine noise, oh, lovely, has he got a top-of-the-line new one, or a marvelous old kick-ass Singer 401A, all metal parts, can sew through a beer can, twenty-five stitches and that’s all you need (I also sew, can you tell, and can you tell what I sew on, it’s noisy as fuck) –

And sleeping on the couch and waking up just a little bit sad – and possibly with an unexpected blanket over him, please, because I would fall on the floor and wail~

I’ve been thinking about the Garak & Ziyal thing a lot since you mentioned it. It keeps popping into my mind. It’s just perfect. I kind of wish the show had gone more that way, and also paired Ziyal with Jake, because that would have been lovely… Garak’s Miles, yep, but also his student, his language student (wait, shit, this is from a different post; oh, well, all things in their time, but I SUPPORT THIS)

I think Quark looks damned good clothes-wise, and he rocks the terrible tan and the pointy teeth and the dark eyes. God knows he gets more tail than the rest of the crew put together. None of them quite understands. And yet, there it is.

OH and for SURE he buys some clothes at Garak’s, and Garak has to tailor something for him! That conversation carries over verbatim! “Do something with the lapels.” “Like what?” “I dunno. You’re the tailor. Make them look good.” “Oh, and all this time I thought you wanted me to make them look bad.” Hisssssssss~

I have had DS9 ideas since 1993, yo, so let’s do this riiiiiiight~

Srsly, this show; you can put it down, you can put it away, and then one day, you turn around and there it is again, smiling at you, like it never left.

And Garak is now completely headcanoned as a tremendous romantic, and he absolutely writes poetry in Kardasi, and he’s actually not bad at it, not good, really, but not bad, but nobody will ever know, and Julian finds it, “grocery list,” Lady, I love it so, I love it so~

(have I even used a period in this email? Is it all tildes??)

Bwaaahahaha, you know, I could see canon Gul Dukat doing the cucumbers and mask paste thing, vain bastard that he is. Poor Damar probably has to wax his back for him. (Scrape his… scales? I don’t know?)

Actual dancing does happen, yes, and it’s your fault, because you reminded me that it’s no good if everybody doesn’t share. Julian goes to coffee shops and movies and book readings and and and, and he has a good time, yes, but that’s not all he likes to do, and it’s only fair that Garak give the other stuff a try, yes? And when Garak is recalcitrant, Julian Mr. fucking calls him on it. Luckily, Garak is clever enough that he’s already figured out he’s being kind of an ass, and he’s happy to try to do better, and it’s not like Julian is looking for Fred Astaire, here, he just wants someone to hold hands with and grin at, and that’s not so terribly onerous, is it.

(queen of the run-on sentence)

Oh, I can’t wait to see your reveal, I am dying, it’s slow torture, and I adore it~

This is so silly, and I’m delighting in it. What fun to make a world!

The age gap is a thing, and I think it’s just as much of a thing as they decide to make it. I look forward to them bumping into it from time to time, when Julian doesn’t have the cultural reference that Garak has, or Garak doesn’t understand what the hell Julian is talking about re: something trending online, but I think those are more peer group issues than age issues, you know? The thing that might really weird Julian out is the day he realizes Garak’s stubble comes in mostly grey. (also Garak shaving eeee)

Oh – random thing – can I mention that I love how pointy you make Garak’s chin? That’s one aspect of his makeup that I always really enjoyed. I think it’s my favourite Garak “look,” so I like seeing it in your art.

Oh God. It’s fanfic of fanfic, isn’t it. Bwaa ha ha, this is a thing, this is absolutely a thing. Welp. I’m lost. At least you seem to have some idea of where I am. And there appear to be some other people following this too, so they can help find me.

OH OH – re Bashir going after someone older – VASH!

Who, in fairness, is very pretty, and quite amoral, and kind of a female version of Garak, which amuses me a bit. And also he got hit with the idiot bat in this episode, and asks her out derpily (and kind of creepily) and then spends the rest of the episode sleeping. BUT it happens. They would’ve had a fun date, I think. He would have loved her stories.

“Julian likes feeling like he’s the one who knows what he’s doing.” Now isn’t that an intriguing thought. I can ride that train places. He does seem to like ingenues. I haven’t seen the genetically enhanced gang episode either, although I hear it’s interesting, lots of moral/ethical questions to chew on, and AFAIK he ends up with her in the novel-canon (and working for Starfleet Intelligence? I guess?). And you know what? Fair. We all have our tastes. But sometimes we all get surprised, too…

Awww, drunken conversations with Miles about dudes you would go for?? I love this!? I am terrified and fascinated! I’m thinking for Miles it’d take a lot of beer, and for Julian, well, judging by how he teases Miles about being ravished and makes him hit his head on things, slightly less beer? It’s fun to watch him teeter – he’ll joke about it and tease, because it makes Miles uncomfortable, and then here’s Garak and Julian just doesn’t think those same jokes are going to fly, somehow…

I like Julian’s thoughts on this, and that he’s not prepared to deal with them just yet. How is he going to figure this out? Garak won’t call him on it for quite some time, yes? Because having a crush that likes spending time with you is a luxury, and he’s fine with it for now… Hmm, hmm, something’s gonna have to happen – maybe your Ziyal idea – maybe Garak meets somebody else – so Julian can pull an Emma and snarl, “He’s mine!”  Although, perhaps not, perhaps that’s twee…

I just don’t like the idea of Julian closing his eyes and doing it for England, though.

Hmm hmm hmm.

(what dudes would Julian sleep with, pray tell?)
