Oh, here it is! I knew there was another one? (lol’ing at the random proliferation of this weirdness and how much this website hates that we’re using it this way)

I know, right? I kept thinking, “Weren’t we balancing a lot more of these?” and went to track down all the word pinata episodes. Lo and behold!

Below the read more: TNG Miles, TNG in general, DD9 Empok Nor, DS9 Keiko, AA Garak and Bashir getting married~~~, and more hinky DD9 Garak/Bashir because that appears to be my life these days.

Yergh, you’ve only seen the first two or three seasons of TNG? That is some questionable television right there. I watched it pretty religiously from about season three on, and I think I’ve seen every episode what with reruns, etc. It’s… pretty good? I was very into it at the time, but I was also in grade five, so… hard to say. It’s so episodic, and I crave arcs. I build them when they aren’t there. And then the show keeps twisting out from under me, and weird things happen, like Troi dating Worf (yerrrgh), and things happening one week and nobody referencing them next week. I’ll still watch it if it’s on, but I’m not planning a rewatch or anything. But I do love the characters, and O’Brien came from there, so hey, can’t argue with TNG. (He’s very cute on TNG. Did you see that wedding shot of him and Keiko? He looks so proud~ And he’s so incredibly young. Colm Meaney doesn’t appear to age, particularly; he just gets more and more O’Brien as the years go on.)

Re: Miles background – yep on hanging up the Internet. Do as you please and it will please, I am sure. And he’s everyman, so you really can do as you like, I think.

Re: Empok Nor – yeah, I think this has actually turned into something in my head. It’s definitely kotra, but it’s kotra with overtones and possibly flashbacks…? It’s kind of weird. We’ll see if it turns into something more than notes in a word document.

Re: the actual episode Empok Nor – oh, you know, I’d forgotten that I liked that too… Garak in a spacesuit, Garak having a role to play beyond enigmatic slightly irritating guy, Garak going hunting (creepy as hell)… And Garak really feeling like he’d switched sides for a bit there. And then Garak going nucking futs, but that’s its own thing, and perhaps we can leave that bit out, yiiikes. (HOLY SHIT JULIAN indeed.)

Re: wiring – awwwww, that’s adorable, and a great throwback to the show~ I hope you do it!

Re: Keiko – hmm. That’s interesting. I’m trying to think of Keiko being sweet or Keiko being cute, and wow, there’s not much of it, is there. She’s always very Miiiiiiiiles and he’s always very put-upon. Too bad. She does get him and Julian to go out and have fun, and she’s sweet about it… Hey, I know – the episode where Miles was replaced by a doppelganger – she’s nice there… because she doesn’t want to set off the weird alien clone…? I guess? You know, that’s too bad. There’s a lot of “Keiko is bitchy” and “Keiko is a problem” and very little “Keiko is the most wonderful goddamned thing that’s ever happened to me.” I remember Miles telling Julian, in that episode with the Harvester bacteria, that marriage is the most wonderful adventure he’ll ever go on, and he just sounds like he really means it, he just loves the shit out of her, and it’s too bad that we never really get to see them just loving each other without them having to have a great big fight first.

Re: wedding bullshit – awwwwwww, multiple wedding scenariooooos~ Marvelous! I can see “on paper” as probably being the most likely outcome, because you’re right, Julian Bashir can unfortunately probably only build so much identity on his own on Cardassia. Racism might be a part of it. Cardassia being Cardassia is another part. I have a fic in my head that deals with that, a little… But tying himself to Minister Garak is probably a clever move. (random amusing thing – just found your little scrapbook sketch of them discussing this – “Do I need a collar? Or a letter, please don’t arrest Dr. Bashir, he is married to me, love, Minister Garak?” Hee!)

But, at the same time, they have friends on Cardassia, they’ve got to have friends, maybe not lifelong best buds but friends – how about Dr. Parmak, how about Julian’s co-workers from the Centre, how about Natima Lang (who I figure probably made it home somehow)…? There are people who’d probably like to be there. Maybe they can have a little party at their house. With cheese in glasses. And Garak cooking quietly and frantically, and Julian tidying as best he can, and maybe they both do have wedding rings, which would be of interest to the Cardassians, and also whatever the Cardassian equivalent is – we haven’t seen one, really, have we, so headcanons awayyyyy – and little speeches and kanar and champagne and then closing the door behind everybody and looking at each other and bursting into giggles, we really did it, we did – god I am such a dorkkkkkkkk~

Miles attending a ceremony probably would go much the way you’ve said. But Julian is gonna deck him in the fucking head one of these days, yeesh. (Although “I will take you home myself, no questions asked,” is very sweet, and Julian needs to look at him and say FOR GOD’S SAKE I AM HOME.)

Re: wedding present – do you know, I am completely enamoured with the idea of a sweetly-tuned replicator as a wedding present. He wouldn’t even have to come to Cardassia. It could be a self-contained little unit, much nicer than most people would have on Cardassia, along with instructions that even engineering-extension-courses Julian could follow to hook it into Cardassia’s power grid, loaded with a few recipes that Miles likes, and that Scotch synthehol they had the one time that was almost passable, and Idanian spice pudding because Julian is a sucker for it. Aww. I love it.

OH GOD does AA Julian eat peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches too? Delightful~

Re: “Married, Miles.”  Yes. Done in one. How I love to see them snipe at each other. Crank crank crank, crank crank crank, kiss on cheek. I look forward to the day that more AA makes it online. BUT write what you like! Always only what you like…!

Re: accidental threesome – ah, that does sound like Julian. And the woman is an ongoing character? Oh, I’m excited – ongoing characters and epistolary format – I wish to subscribe to this newsletter –

Re: cult – what? I’ve missed something here. What kind of cult is this? Is this from ASIT? Is this a Hebitian thing?

Re: not that I like you or anything – It’s amazing how a change in context can make something look completely different, hmm? It would be interesting to see how Garak looks to Julian when he’s not looking at Julian. “Julian likes that Garak likes him” – you’re right, that’s a huge step, and the fact that’s it’s not creepy and that he’s not having the I-don’t-return-it sads is very important. And he probably doesn’t know that yet, does he, because ye Gods it’s early days, and right now it’s just weird and probably kind of flattering and largely imaginary so let’s not get too caught up in it… And he doesn’t want to lead Garak on. Hmm. Garak doesn’t want to lead Garak on, either. This really feels like two people who really aren’t that wild about getting into a relationship making impulsive choices over and over again, and it just kind of picks up steam, and rolls along of its own accord…

Re: flirting – DD9 Julian attaches a lot of importance to flirting, doesn’t he. DS9 Julian regards it as de rigeur, I think. But DD9 Julian seems like he could be a tremendous flirt if he wanted to be – he’s naturally quite good at it – does he know that he is?

Re: Garak venting (perhaps not right word) to Julian about Ziyal’s awkward crush – awww – I kind of see Julian affecting this very concerned look, oh dear, that must be troubling, and inside his head he goes yes! and then he realizes that he went yes inside his head and that’s weird and should he maybe think about that some more, and Garak’s kind of looking at him, Julian, where did you go…?

Re: Garak being kind of open to just about anything – Hee! I’m so glad we’re keeping that aspect of him. I liked DS9 Garak’s attitude towards sexuality. It’s nice to see on DD9 Garak. Although I kind of headcanon him as less experienced than DS9 Garak, who I figure kept himself quite busy prior to exile, and who knows, perhaps even during – there’s a lot of traffic through the station, certainly, and he does love company. DD9 Garak may have dallied, but avoided attachment, because it was a complication, and perhaps he has tried it once or twice, and then had to leave in the middle of the night without a goodbye to go do the next thing and then in one case he had to figure out a way to avoid being found when one of his previous romantic partners was actively looking for him because he was worried Garak was dead, and that was awful, and it’s just easier to not get involved with that kind of thing anymore.

Except now that’s all changed… oh dear, oh dear…

Are you kidding? Spoil just a little, just a little – it’s delightful and gives me headcanons to carry around and poke at. But please keep writing.
