I REALLY like the detail in “Things Past” that Quark doesn’t have any makeup

my headcanon explanation for his no-makeup appearance in the pilot was that he only started wearing purple eyeshadow when the Federation moved in because he felt the need to glam it up for the humons, or makeup just wasn’t available during the occupation or something like that

and I guess seeing a scene that took place seven years in the past and seeing that no makeup during the occupation is canon just makes me feel so good about my own little dumb headcanon

(also another headcanon that this scene is definitely not the only time that Quark hires Bajorans on the station to work in his bar, that he actually does it a lot because he wants to help them in his own way and he really beats himself up about it every time and promises not to be charitable ever again but then he sees them starving and is like “ughhh here we go again”)
