Jumping spiders in the genus Phidippus

Found throughout North and Central America, this genus includes some of the largest jumping spiders in the world. Although the bold jumping spider, Phidippus audax, is by far the most common and well-known species in the genus, there are 79 other described species as of 2021. They are often distinguished by their colorful, iridescent chelicerae.
