Ooh. And then you reblog and I’ll ask you.
Answers about writing under the cut:
3. Which was the hardest to write in terms of plot?
Mmmm. I kind of want to say Splice, oddly. I got stuck for-fricking-ever. And there’s so little to it… but I just couldn’t figure out how they could get through these conversations without busting up in an explosive fight. It was like tapdancing through a minefield. Ask Lady: I started it in May and finished it in September.
4. Which has the most ‘you’ in it, however you’d define that?
Can I include unfinished things? Because the novel I’m writing has a main character who’s basically me twisted slightly out of shape. She’s a me I might not like. I didn’t realize this until my husband pointed it out to me, which was interesting. Weirdly, her love interest is also me, but me with customer-service-face on, and this plays into the plot. Hooray, it’s “The Man Who Folded Himself” all over again!
Of the things I’ve put online… mrmmm… Learning to Speak. Because it’s heart and soul Cardassia, it’s language, it’s tinsnip’s brain trying to build another world, and in that story, that planet’s bones are mine.
(shit! you didn’t even ask that! you asked 5! but i had so much fun answering i’m leaving it, oh my god, reading comprehension fail)
5. What is an image/set of images that you’re particularly proud of?
The recurring motif of the fireflies in you are receding. They danced through my mind.
12. What WIPs do you have going on now? Are you excited about them?
A myriad. And yes, to varying degrees. I’m 81,000 words into my novel, and I’m so thoroughly sick of it I can’t tell you–but I need to tell the story, so on I go. I’m three-quarters done the Bashir!Wooster and Garak!Jeeves story that ladyyatexel and I are concocting (hoping to tie it off today). I’m various stages of through three different PWPs (one of which is for you!). I constantly daydream scenes for night will have no stars, which will be post-canon Cardassia. Oh, and let’s not forget hope is a four-letter word, which is also in a state of constant roiling boil and will feature DD9 Julian making tough choices. Fun fun fun till my husband takes the keyboard away!
14. Would you want to write canon for any of your fandoms?
My many fandoms… Of course! But it’s in amazing hands with Una Mccormack, and quite frankly, my G/B is too damned shippy to fly. Oh, well! Gotta make up my own 'verse instead.
19. Do you make up scenes at work/on the bus/at the gym? Who are the characters that pop up the most? Do you write them down?
Ahahahahaaaaa, yes. Constantly. I jot down notes on notepads or in my phone or send myself frantic emails because otherwise I will forget, and there is nothing more tragic than forgetting a really, really good line… And it’s usually Julian and Garak, of course, because my mind likes talking to itself in their voices. They have so much fun with words…
Thanks! This was fun!
