Oh, boy. /rubs hands/ Thank you, you lovely sweet lemon, you!

These really are very good for the ego, and also for the creative process.

More talk about writing under the cut.

2. Favorite piece overall?

It changes by the day. Currently I’m extremely fond of Disconnect and of the lie in his voice. Sometimes I go re-read With Interest. Now and then I hit Learning to Speak again, or Your Love is My Drug… And when nothing fits, I write something new! Hooray!

9. Favorite character to write?

Nyaaargh– /grips head

Probably Garak? Just because I enjoy his perspective so much, and how weird Humans are to him? But Julian has his charms too–he’s so much sillier, and so much braver, and so much more delighted with life…

And I also really, really like writing Jadzia Dax. She gives zero shits.

10. Favorite line or lines of dialogue that you’ve written

“You don’t want me to think less of you…” It’s said on a exhalation, and Garak’s face is strange, almost rueful.

“Apparently.” It’s ridiculous. He knows it. And yet here he is, and here is Garak, shaking his head, putting a hand over his eyes for a moment, peering at him over his fingers.

“Julian. If I thought any more of you, I’d think of nothing else.”

“Why do I smell of lemons?”

* * *

“Right. The ubiquitous, ever-present—”

“Ever-unpleasant—”

“Effervescent?”

“Sadly, no.”

* * *

“Decorate bravely.

13. Are there any things that might have happened in any of your stories, but you changed them at the last minute? (So-and-so dies, they don’t actually kiss, main character has long extended ballet-based dream sequence, etc.)

Well, in Disconnect, Julian was going to convince himself that Garak was worth saving. It just came off as fake, though, and I’m glad I didn’t go with it. Splice was going to end with Garak and Julian in bed the first night, on a note of complete uncertainty, but then there seemed to be more story to be told. It’s hard to really pinpoint this kind of thing, because I basically write stream-of-consciousness, then go back and edit it into a story.

Thank you for this! Very fun!
