I felt sick this weekend so instead of drawing my precious otp I pondered for a while more why exactly I get this almost unstoppable urge to wash my eyes with a soap when I read yet another straight Bashir’s pov of discovering his attraction to a !male!!!!. Like, no matter if a subject of his affections is entirely different species or has a large age gap, or if it’s just plainly unethical, our good doctor would flirt with a sentient lady-dog but same-sex attraction is truly an overwhelming discovery for an open-minded 24th century man! Whenever I read about why fandom is so queer romance oriented it talks about inclusivity of non-straight-men people. But all those “i can’t find him pretty he’s a man” sounds, for my bisexual self, more like a fairytale where the love interest is a monster than something as ordinary and trivial as scrambled eggs. It’s… just not right

This is probably slightly outside of the job description of bodyguard. I had a lot of ideas about this, actually. It wasn’t just ‘lol, sleeping’. It’s mostly to do with the extended adventures on Centauri Prime stuff that I’ve been so enchanted with since it’s mostly clothes and shenanigans. But with the still-intact fear and unsettling background going ons, this is like blurring some lines between bodyguard and psychological wellness and eventually things are hostile and weird enough that this arrangement is the least weird shit going on for either of them.
