Bomb the first sneeze with a chlorine Kilacold bomb. Ad in the Oakland Tribune, 22 Feb 1925.
The ‘bomb’ was a teardrop-shaped glass ampoule containing 0.35g of chlorine gas, which the cold sufferer would release into a confined space and breathe in. The idea came from the US Chemical Warfare Service’s experiments into the use of chlorine against colds after the First World War. Read more about Kilacold.
