See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna
  • indyK1ng: I'll be brief, what was your favorite episode of DS9 you were in? Favorite episode of DS9 you weren't in? What episode did you least like making?
  • AndrewJRobinson: The Wire was definitely my favorite. The baseball episode was the one I really missed doing. I complained bitterly, but to no avail. I hated doing the alternate universe episodes. That Garak had no subtext. Just a badass. Thanks for asking.

  • toomanyairmiles: I would love to know how you managed to portray such a wide range of emotion under all that makeup! Were you forced to alter your technique or use of voice at all and did the makeup influence your portrayal of the character?
  • AndrewJRobinson: The mask freed me from self-consciousness and I just played like a child. The wonderful thing for me about Garak is that he's an innocent. He does terrible things and he's a spy, but he's a child at heart. Thank you for your kind words.
  • toomanyairmiles: I did wonder if Garek's very precise mode of speech and careful intonation was a consequence of the makeup reducing your available range of facial emotion/expression or a feature of your vision of the character?
  • AndrewJRobinson: Oooo. Interesting question. I do believe that the prosthetic mask pushed me in the direction I eventually went. The mask created a more careful way of speaking - certainly more careful than my style. Lovely question.

  • JustPlainSimpleGarak: Now for a question: Is there any side of Garak that we never got to see during the run of DS9 or in ASIT that you wished you got a chance to show? Or perhaps is there any story or plotline for Garak that was never explored that you wish you had been able to do?
  • AndrewJRobinson: Probably the love story the writers wanted to tell when they introduced Ziyal. It was like the this romance was doomed by the oddest circumstances - it just never got off the ground. Garak had a real poet's soul and I would have liked to have gone there with him. Thanks for asking.

  • JAugustus: As a Shakespeare nerd, I loved watching Garak reluctantly warm to Shakespeare after initially dismissing him with Dr. Bashir.
  • If Garak went on to study Shakespeare seriously, what plays/characters would he love and hate most?
  • Andrew Robinson: Indecisive guys who create a lot of havoc like Hamlet and Macbeth would drive Garak crazy. I think he'd love the clowns and fools.

(on being asked about tennis) What made you ask that question? Was it the way I picked up the tennis ball in that episode? (yes, it was) Yeahhh! You know, my wife thinks I’ve wasted a decade of my life on the tennis court, but when I saw that one scene in that episode, I was _vindicated._
