Terry Farrell didn’t begin to shoot her scenes until the 11th day of principal photography, by which time most of the cast and crew had gotten to know each other. Initially, she found the whole experience overwhelming, taking up to fifteen takes to get some of the dialogue scenes correct, and at one stage she actually hoped she was going to be fired. Jadzia Dax is forever getting herself into scrapes. To set you the proper example, I will advise you that her idea of a giggler is to break into one's quarters and move all the furniture about, and when one protests, one is swatted upon the arm and advised to buck up, even if one's general behaviour is as giddy as can be. You know, she barely needs any tinkering to be a pretty plausible Bobbie Wickham. I mean, stunning profile, yep, brilliant mind, mm-hmm, “once had a sort of stupid idea that I was in love with her”, gotcha… Just tuck a nearly-immortal worm in her belly to give her even more ideas for schemes and you have yourself one fantastic way to get Wodehouse!Julian into trouble!

It’s not hard to imagine her sneaking into Wodehouse!Odo’s quarters and moving everything one centimetre to the right, is it? Or pranking Worf by poking a hole in the hot water bottle in his bed? And coming to Julian with big, wide eyes, “Julian, you’ve simply got to help me, I’m in the most awful fix and what are friends for?”

Sadly, her role in the fic is pretty slim. Maybe next time she’ll get the chance to get up to some real mischief!

This wasn’t intended to be the first finished picture I did with Jadzia in, but ended up turning out that way. As usual I made a teeny-weeny ficlet to go with it.

I’ll have to write a big old paragraph about the specifics of this Trill redesign another time - for now, my hand is totally killing me after all those spots and markings and things!
