The change which takes place in Kira’s hairstyle from the pilot episode, “Emissary”, was at the request of Nana Visitor herself; “I just didn’t feel that Major Kira would style her hair every day. She wouldn’t care! I wanted a hairstyle that looked like she just woke up in the morning looking like that.” (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Companion)
So I’m listening to “The Rules of Acquisition” while I drive all over God’s creation this weekend, and they just covered “Progress” and were amused by Kira’s uniform undershirt, and wondered if Odo were to take off his uniform jacket (yes, I know), would he also have those really high-waisted pants and then this little woven t-shirt thing and
I
can’t
mentally unsee that???
QUESTION: What was the significance of Kira’s initial reaction to the gift from Dukat in Sons and Daughters? I’ve been reading past posts from both camps about whether or not she had hidden feelings for him along with the revulsion. Nothing up to that point made me think she might really have a thing for him, but her delight at first receiving the dress (knowingly from him) seemed quite evident. Is she really attracted to him after all?

RON MOORE: She was charmed by him and found herself actually lulled into the first steps of some sort of relationship with him. In that sense, she’s a stand-in for the audience: “Hey, he’s not so bad. He’s even kinda cute. Maybe, it would be okay if he and I…. YIKES!”
*sound of sputtering short-circuit*
-“This is very…kind of you, Nerys.”
-“It’s the least I could do for my favorite policeman. Besides, its my break, and where else am i going to hear about the weird crap that people pull around here?”
tbh i kinda feel like shit right now and its raining outside, so here’s a crappy drawing of dd9 odo and kira in the rain
