same, Kirk. Same.
(I thought I was ready for another crack at TAS. I should have learned by now that it is impossible to be ready for TAS.)
Kirk is just this ridiculous, wonderful, bookish lesbian who’s always wearing kicky boots and visiting ex-girlfriends on different planets and talking respectfully about their shared past and saying things like, “I’m so glad you got your Ph.D. in neuroscience now. Be well. I release you!” And I loved that, I really connected to that.

This scene is made funnier by the fact that Spock was racing to save Kirk’s life
because Kirk contacted him with nothing but “Kirk to Enterprise AHHHH”
Kirk having one of those moments where you meet someone’s parents and suddenly everything makes so much sense.
Anti-sexist headcanon to the rescue: this is just a thing that Kirk does sometimes on tense missions. Every redshirt has had to deal with it at least once.
