I did a small double-take at the cat, especially that momentary look of consideration before the baby lay down again, because the colouring, the expression and even the collar-tag reminded me so much of Henri, le chat noir…

More careful examination, of course, shows that the baby-washer is not in fact Henri, but the notion of our ennui-laden feline philosopher trying to provide a formative human with a lick of sense is appropriate.

Almost every TV show thinks kids would name their cute cat something like “Mr. Fuzzakins” and I always roll my eyes because in my experience if you really let a very small child name a cat you get cats running around with names like “Butt Sandwich” or “Windshield Wipers” or “Ugly Frog Guy”
