On Rene's voice acting - Rene is an awesome actor, but his voice acting just fuckin blows me away exactly for all those reasons you listed in your post. And how he can drastically and distinctly change his voice for different characters as well is just god damn art. That on episode in TNG called "masks", brent spiner had to create like, 6 different characters or something. I never bought it. It was just eh. But I would pay good money to see Rene do the same thing. Oh boy would I ever.

Right? Yes. He’s such an amazing mask actor. Watch his hands–they’re always moving; all the emotion Odo can’t put in his face and hides from his voice turns up in his hands. GOD RENE~~~

I barely remember “Masks”. That was late TNG, right? I’m not much for late TNG!

I was up super late because I was excited that the next day I was going to see Lady, and so I couldn’t sleep, you see, because I am five years old. Yay!

And yes, I’m almost fearful of the goodness of that fic. Haven’t started. Am scared to start. I remember finishing TCS and walking around for two days unable to write anything because I felt as if she’d said it all. She’s too good.

I wrote fanfic! Well, that’s not quite so: I wrote fanfic and put it up where people could actually see it. I’m enormously happy I did. I think it may have been the best thing I’ve done for myself in a long, long time.

My sister, who took care of her partner when he suffered some very scary life issues. My husband, who keeps the ship afloat every day. Lady Yate-Xel, who talked with me about things I was being obstreperous about and helped me to understand that I was being a bit of an obstinate asshole, or that there was more in heaven and earth than was dreamt of in my philosophy. All of you guys, who kind of enveloped me in this tumblr thing in a tremendously enjoyable way–I am very grateful. You’ve all done a lot for my philosophy too.

15) “What did you get really, really, really excited about?”

Um, yeah, that would be the fictional universe of Deep Dish Nine, which pretty much ate me alive. It’s a good thing I’m quite content to live in its belly. What a joyful thing that little ‘verse is!

16) “What song will always remind you of 2013?”

It’s a toss-up: either Ke$ha’s “C'mon” or her “Warrior”. Or that goddamned “Kingdom Burning Down” earworm that someone put me on to. All of them remind me of good things, and all of them make me smile.
